MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Piedmont College men's tennis team continued its perfect run through the USA South with a 7-2 road win at Huntingdon on Sunday afternoon in Montgomery.
 
The Lions (12-5, 6-0 USA South) took all three doubles matches to establish early momentum and carried it into singles play, where they won 4-of-6 lines to remain undefeated in conference play.
 
BRANDON GREGORY and ROMAN WEBB got things going for Piedmont with an 8-4 at No. 3 doubles. That was quickly followed by two more 8-4 wins at No. 1 and No. 2 to give PC the doubles sweep.
 
HARRISON LABOLLITA started off singles with a dominant 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 1 before HOUSTON MEDLOCK clinched the match with his own easy two-set win at No. 2.
 
With the match in hand, Piedmont's ANDREW CHITTY and Webb each cruised to straight-set victories and No. 4 and No. 5.
 
Playing out the last two matches, the Hawks (5-8, 3-5 USA South) battled to take the matches at No. 4 and No. 6 to avoid the sweep.
 
Up next, Piedmont will travel to take on Maryville and look to remain unblemished in the USA South this Tuesday, April 9 at 2 p.m.
 
TURNING POINT:
- The Lions took control early with three 8-4 wins in doubles competition.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Moving up to No. 1 and No. 2 singles for the day, LaBollita improved his record at No. 1 to 2-0 and Medlock is now 4-0 at No. 2, taking the clincher on Sunday.
