DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College men's tennis team dropped its final home match of the season, 8-1, to Pfeiffer on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Lions (14-7) were unable to secure a doubles point and fell in five of the six singles matches to suffer the 8-1 defeat.
 
Pfeiffer (9-6) started off the match with an 8-1 statement win at No. 3 doubles. After the Falcons also won at No. 1 doubles, 8-4, they clinched the doubles sweep with a hard-fought 8-6 victory at No. 2.
 
Piedmont responded early in singles, with HARRISON LABOLLITA prevailing, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles in the final home match of his career.
 
However, from there, the Falcons regained control, cruising to four consecutive two-set victories to clinch the match.
 
ANDREW CHITTY battled, but fell in three sets at No. 6, just his third singles defeat of the season.
 
Up next, the Lions will play on Saturday, April 27 at 10 a.m. in the USA South Tournament semfiinals.
 
TURNING POINT:
- After LaBollita's win at No. 2 singles cut PC's deficit to 3-1, Pfeiffer answered with easy two-set victories at No. 1 and No. 3 singles to clinch the win at 5-1.
