CLEMSON, S.C. – The Piedmont College men's tennis team suffered a 6-3 loss at the hands of LaGrange on Friday afternoon at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center in Clemson, South Carolina.

The match, originally scheduled to be played in Demorest, was moved indoors to Clemson due to inclement weather in the area.

The Lions (14-6, 11-1 USA South) dropped two of the three doubles matches and were unable to overcome the deficit in singles play, as the Panthers ()11-3, 10-2 USA South) won four out of six to take the match, 6-3.

After LaGrange rolled to an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles to establish a quick lead, Piedmont answered right back with HOUSTON MEDLOCK and CHASE MORRIS's 8-5 triumph at No. 3.

With the win, both Medlock and Morris broke the Piedmont single-season record for doubles victories.

However, the Panthers were able to take a 2-1 lead into singles courtesy of an 8-4 victory at No. 1.

LaGrange quickly extended its lead to 3-1 with a two-set win at No. 2, but the Lions battled back with JARRETT GRAY's 7-6, 6-4 victory at No. 3.

PC kept up the momentum, tying the match at 3-3 on ANDREW CHITTY's 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 6.

However, it was all LaGrange from there, as the Panthers took each of the last three matches to run away with the 6-3 win and hand Piedmont its first conference loss of the campaign.

Up next, the Lions will conclude its regular season with one final home match this Tuesday, April 23 at 3:30 p.m. against Pfeiffer. Prior to the match, seniors HARRISON LABOLLITA, KANLER CUMBASS and ANDREW CHITTY will be honored for their contributions to the program.

TURNING POINT:
- With the match tied at 3-3, LaGrange swept the remaining three matches, picking up two-set wins at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 1 singles to clinch the match.

NEWS AND NOTES:
- CHASE MORRIS and HOUSTON MEDLOCK picked up an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles, giving each the school record for doubles wins in a single season.
