DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont women's lacrosse team was shut out at home on Monday, losing 23-0 to Meredith College in league play.

The Avenging Angels currently top the conference standings and have won the USA South Athletic Conference tournament the past five years.

Meredith (14-3, 10-0) scored in the opening 21 seconds and then pulled ahead 2-0 one minute later.

Meredith closed the half leading 15-0.

The Avenging Angels added eight goals in the second half to close out the game.

Piedmont (8-7, 7-3) managed four shots for the game.
