DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College women's lacrosse team picked up a USA South conference victory Saturday over William Peace 15-9. The win comes on senior day in one of the final regular season contests at Walker Athletic Complex in 2019.

The Lady Lions struck first as MACEY HIGGINS scored her 16th goal of the season off a MADISON VOSHALL feed, but the Pacers tied the contest within 30 seconds. Piedmont then went on a four goal run to lead 5-1 before the Pacers would tack on another.

After 20:00 in the first half, the Lady Lions led 9-2 after another four goal run, but the Pacers added two goals before the end of the first half. Piedmont was held scoreless over the final 11 minutes of the first half.

EMMA FRANSEN got back two goals for the Lady Lions in the opening minutes of the second half to make it 11-4 before William Peace added one. The two teams matched one another goal for goal until William Peace capitalized on a free position shot to cut the lead to 13-8.

The teams once again traded goals but Fransen was the last to strike with the final goal for the 15-9 win. Fransen ended the day with four goals, one assist and five caused turnovers.

Prior to the game, Piedmont honored its two seniors KAITLYN MORRIS and MATTIE KEATON for their careers in the Green & Gold.
