ORLANDO, Fla. – The Piedmont College men's tennis team fell, 5-4, to Belhaven on Saturday morning in Orlando, Florida.
 
The Lions (5-2) dropped two of three doubles matches to get things started, with HARRISON LABOLLITA and ANDREW CHITTY prevailing, 8-4, at No. 2 to give PC its first point of the match.
 
Then, in singles play, the Blazers (2-3) took the match, 5-4, splitting the six singles matches.
 
Chitty continued his solid start to the season, winning, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6.
 
After KANLER CUMBASS took his match at No. 1 when his opponent retired in the second set, HOUSTON MEDLOCK put PC's fourth point on the board by rallying from down a set, winning a third-set tiebreaker, 10-7.
 
Unfortunately, Belhaven took the match after banking wins at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 singles.
 
Up next, the Lions are back at it early Sunday morning for an 8 a.m. match against Transylvania.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Chitty improved his singles record to a team-best 5-1, including a 4-1 mark in the No. 6 slot.
