The Mountaineers struck first off starter

TYLER BURDETTE doubled to start the inning, stole third and was driven in on a
FOWLER BROOKS sac fly. The other four runs the Lions managed in the second all came with two outs as Piedmont produced three singles and was gifted two walks to claim a 5-2 lead in the second.
Cox allowed just four hits total until the fifth inning when he allowed four hits, all singles, to make it 7-5. These two teams singled each other to death as 11 of the first 14 hits in the game were singles.
