A jumper by MILES RILEY made it 8-7 and Piedmont never surrendered the lead again. Piedmont built a quick lead after an ORRY CLEMENTS-OWENS three and a fastbreak layup from EVAN EASTON.

The Lions held the Gorloks scoreless for over five minutes midway through the first half establishing an 11-point lead 21-10 but then were held scoreless themselves for over four minutes. Free throws kept the score in favor of the Lions as they stretched their lead back to 10 leading 37-27 at the break.

The distance stayed in double figures till a 3-pointer for the Gorloks with 16:33 remaining in the game. Back-to-back jumpers by JORDAN FOOTE stretched it back to a double digit lead as he scored eight straight for the Lions beginning with those buckets.

The lead never dipped below 10 until the final eight seconds of the contest when Webster hit back-to-back quick layups for the final 71-64.
