GREENVILLE, S.C. - In a non-conference matchup on the road, the Piedmont College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Bob Jones University Tuesday evening. The Bruins took the sets 25-19, 27-25, 25-13. 

Piedmont led early in the first set 8-7 before falling behind but managed to tie the set at 14-14. From that point, the Bruins stretched out the lead and took the first set 25-19. 

That momentum continued on the side of Bob Jones early in the second set as the Bruins built a quick 6-1 lead. The Lady Lions clawed back and eventually took a lead 15-14 and down the stretch the two were knotted at 23.

The Bruins secured an ace for set point, but Piedmont rallied back to score two of their own and get set point on a kill by ALINA ROBERTS. Piedmont was unable to close it out in the final points as Bob Jones had three straight kills to take the second set 27-25. 

In the third, momentum was all in favor of the Bruins as they used an 11-1 run late in the set to take the third set 25-13 and seal the win. 

ALINA ROBERTS led Piedmont with eight kills. 

TURNING POINT:
--The Lady Lions nearly stole a set in the second dropping a 27-25 decision to the Bruins. 

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--LAINEY CHOINIERE led the team with 17 digs while ALI WILKINS added nine digs and seven assists.
