DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College volleyball team delivered a clean sweep of Brevard on Senior Night at Cave Arena.
 
The Lady Lions (9-17, 5-7 USA South) took control of all three sets early and cruise to their third 3-0 sweep this season in conference play.
 
Playing in their final home contest in Cave Arena, seniors ERICA BALKCUM, LAINEY CHOINIERE and ALI WILKINS were honored prior to the contest.
 
After dropping the first two points of the first set, PC reeled off five points in a row and never looked back, as the Tornados were unable to close the gap the rest of the way. Wilkins closed out the set at 25-17 with a kill.
 
While Brevard raced out to a quick 6-3 advantage in the second set, the Lions answered back by winning the next four points. Piedmont did not trail the rest of the way, holding the Tornados to an .021 hitting percentage in the set.
 
The third set was more of the same, as the Lady Lions never trailed and pulled away for a 25-15 win to clinch the 3-0 victory in the match.
 
ALINA ROBERTS led the way with 14 kills while freshman HANNAH KATE CHADWELL added 11 with a .474 hitting percentage.
 
Up next, PC will close out its regular season this Saturday, Nov. 2 with matches against Covenant and Agnes Scott in Decatur, Georgia.
 
TURNING POINT:
- The Lady Lions were able to pull away in the middle of each of the three sets and were never pressured in the match.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Playing in their final home contest at Cave Arena, seniors ALI WILKINS, LAINEY CHOINIERE and ERICA BALKCUM all delivered solid performances.
- Wilkins led the Lady Lions with 26 assists while adding a pair of service aces and a kill.
- Balkcum delivered six kills and tallied nine digs.
- Choiniere added a team-high 28 digs.
