GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Piedmont College men's soccer team rallied from down a goal to earn a 1-1 draw at Greensboro on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

After falling behind 1-0 early in the second half, JOSE LINARES volleyed a perfect cross that CAMERON EARLS headed home for the equalizing goal in the final minutes to send the game into overtime, where the Lions (4-6-2, 3-5-2 USA South) were able to earn the hard-fought tie.

Offense was tough to come by for both teams in the first half, with Piedmont only able to generate two shots while the Pride (8-5-2, 6-2-1 USA South) delivered six, but only one on target.

Greensboro began to take control of possession in the second half and broke through in the 56thminute on Gerardo Peraza's free kick from 25 yards out.

Although the Lions struggled to generate many chances late in the second half, they took advantage, earning a free kick in the 84th minute and eventually converting the chance after Greensboro's clear was volleyed into a beautiful cross from Linares to Earls, who beat the goalkeeper to the top right corner.

PC's defense was then able to hold the Pride off the scoreboard in the two overtime periods and earn its second conference draw of the season.

Up next, Piedmont will return home, stepping out of conference this Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. to take on Toccoa Falls.
