FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Piedmont men's basketball team lost another close call Sunday dropping a 75-69 game at Methodist. MICHAEL JOSEPH led the way with a career-high 18 points, but it was not enough to match the Monarchs. 

Piedmont once again built a first half lead of eight points 28-20 with 4:40 till the half, but the Monarchs would claw back to claim the lead before the break 38-34. 

Piedmont rallied back in the second half to take the lead with 10:26 remaining on a Joseph fast break layup, but Piedmont was held scoreless for a four minute period while the Monarchs went on a 10-0 run. The Lions closed within five points in the final minutes but could not overcome the deficit. 

Joseph led the team with 18 points while COLE HUSKEY and MILES RILEY both scored in double figures. 

Turning Point
--The Lions led by one with 8:45 to play, but a 10-0 run for the Monarchs put them out in front for good.

Standout Performances
--MICHAEL JOSEPH scored a career-high 18 points against the Monarchs while also adding 10 rebounds. 

Inside the Box Score
--Piedmont was outscored by four in the first half and two in the second half. 

News & Notes
--The Lions have dropped six of seven conference contests by 10 points or less.

--Piedmont returns home to take on William Peace Friday at 7:00 p.m. inside Cave Arena.
