DEMOREST, Ga. - Using a 23-9 run to close out the contest in the final 8:00, the Piedmont College men's basketball team earned a 73-54 win over William Peace Friday. The Lions were led by JUSTIN QUICK and TAYLOR MILLS who scored 13 points each. 

Piedmont took a 12-0 lead out of the gate, but the Pacers rattled off three 3-pointers to cut the lead to 12-9. A total of 10 3-pointers were made in the first half with six coming for WPU and four for the Lions. 

At the half, Piedmont led 36-32 but the Pacers came out and took the lead 37-36 early in the second half. That was the only time William Peace would lead as a COLE HUSKEY jumper reclaimed the lead. 

It was electric in Cave Arena in the second half, including a five point run for TARIQ ABDULGADER with a converted and-one. WILL RICHTER also had a 5-0 run of his own that closed out the contest. 

Turning Point
--Piedmont led by four points with 8:00 to go in the game, and closed out the contest on a 23-9 run. 

Standout Performances
--Both TAYLOR MILLS and JUSTIN QUICK scored 13 points while MILES RILEY added 11 rebounds.

Inside the Box Score
--The Lions made 15-of-22 free throws for their second highest total free throws made this season and second highest FT percentage of the year. 

News & Notes
--The Lions have never lost to the Pacers inside Cave Arena (3-0) with a 5-1 overall record against William Peace.

--Piedmont has a quick turnaround and will be back in action at 4 p.m. Saturday inside Cave Arena hosting Pfeiffer.
