DEMOREST, Ga. - The Piedmont College men's basketball team dropped a heart-breaker Saturday in an 83-82 loss to Berea. The Lions' EVAN EASTON hit a 3-pointer to tie the game with nine seconds remaining but the Mountaineers escaped with a one point win after a free throw in the final three seconds.

It was a low scoring game in the opening minutes as PARKER BERRY hit a 3-pointer to make it 12-8 with 11:34 on the clock and Piedmont leading. That 3-pointer was the second of three straight for the Lions as they led by four with 10:00 to go till halftime.

The Mountaineers would reclaim the lead once more but Piedmont took a 36-32 lead into the break. In the opening 2:30 of the second half, neither team could find the net, but a 3-pointer from each team sparked the scoring.

Of the 33 points Piedmont scored in the second half, all but two points came from 3-pointers and the free throw line. A Berea 3-pointer was the dagger in regulation as Deandre Lightfoot knocked down a deep shot with nine seconds to play forcing OT.

In overtime, it was evenly matched as EVAN EASTON made a 3-pointer to tie the game at 82 with nine seconds remaining, but a Torell Carter free throw sealed the win for the Mountaineers 83-82.
