MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Piedmont College men's basketball team dropped an 82-66 game at Huntingdon College Saturday after the Hawks used a quick start to set the tone. Huntingdon led by eight in the opening three minutes of play and maintained the lead throughout the contest.
Huntingdon built as much as a 20-point lead in the first half with the Hawks holding a 43-25 lead at the break. Piedmont trailed by 24 with 12:23 to go in the game before using a 12-3 run to cut the lead to 60-45.
The Lions made just three 3-pointers in the game with
WILL RICHTER accounting for a pair going a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc.
MILES RILEY led the team with 12 points while
MICHAEL JOSEPH added 10. All but two Lions who saw action in the contest scored.
Turning Point
--Huntingdon held the Lions scoreless over a three minute stretch midway through the first half and built a 14 point lead.
Standout Performances
--The Hawks had five players in double figures led by B.J. Barker with 15 points.
Inside the Box Score
--Piedmont outscored the Hawks in the second half but it was not enough as the Hawks took an 18 point lead into the half.
News & Notes
--The Hawks took both contests against the Lions this season.
