SALEM, Va. -  The Piedmont College volleyball team split a pair of contests Saturday winning 3-0 over Hollins while dropping a 3-0 decision against Roanoke. 

In the first match against Hollins, the Lady Lions controlled the contest throughout with 25-21, 25-16 and 25-22 wins. Piedmont trailed early in the first set 13-10 before a timeout was called. Following the timeout, Piedmont came out and earned a 25-21 win in the first set. 

The Lady Lions coasted to a 25-16 win in the second set and maintained the edge at the end for the 25-22 win to claim the match. TATIANA PAULA led Piedmont with 13 kills while JENNA WENDEL once again had over 30 assists with 31. CECE COGLIANO had nine kills on just 14 total attacks for a .571 kill percentage. 

Against Roanoke, Piedmont lost 25-18, 25-22 and 25-12. Paula once again led Piedmont with eight kills. LAINEY CHOINIERE led all players with 15 digs while JENNA WENDEL had 14 assists to lead Piedmont. 

Turning Point
--Piedmont used momentum to carry through in the third set for a close 25-22 win against Hollins. 
--Roanoke put the match out of reach in the third set taking a 25-12 win to clinch the match. 

Standout Performances
--TATIANA PAULA led Piedmont in kills with 13 against Hollins and eight against Roanoke.

News & Notes
--The 3-0 win over Hollins marked Piedmont's first sweep of the season.
