DEMOREST, Ga. -  The Piedmont College volleyball team claimed its second straight sweep in conference play with a 3-0 win Saturday over Berea. The Lady Lions move to 4-1 in conference play with a 2-0 record at home inside Cave Arena.

Piedmont took control of the first set midway through with a 15-8 lead, but the Mountaineers ran off four straight points out of a timeout to trail 19-15. The Lady Lions closed out the first set with a 25-18 win and left no doubt in the second set with a 25-12 victory. 

The third set saw Berea take a 22-18 lead, but the Lady Lions were able to mount a comeback to claim the third set 25-22. Piedmont had seven individuals register a kill in the contest led by ALINA ROBERTS with 13. 

Turning Point
--The Lady Lions trailed 22-18 in the third set but rattled off seven straight points to claim the straight sets sweep. 

Standout Performances
--JENNA WENDEL had 30 assists in the contest while LAINEY CHOINIERE posted 24 digs. 

News & Notes
--Piedmont held the Mountaineers to just 21 kills in the match while the Lady Lions posted 20 kills in the second set.

--Piedmont heads to Montgomery to take on Maryville and Huntingdon next weekend on Saturday, October 6.
