DEMOREST, Ga. -
BRADY BALLSTADT sailed one out to left field to lift the Lions to a doubleheader sweep of the Maryville Scots Friday. Piedmont took both games in come-from-behind fashion winning 4-3 and 6-5 to move to 13-4 in league play.
Game one saw the Scots take a 1-0 lead in the first and maintain that lead until the fifth inning when Piedmont tied it on a

TYLER BURDETTE gave Piedmont the lead on a double to score
ANDREW BURDEN in the sixth inning.
Maryville took the lead 3-2 in the eighth inning after two hits, two walks and a hit by pitch, but the Lions answered as
ANDREW BURDEN singled for the third hit in a row to start the inning scoring Ballstadt and
JUSTIN GROOVER to give PC the win.
BUDDY GREEN came in and closed out the contest for his fifth save of the season and earned his sixth in game two.
Game two again saw the Scots take the lead early with a 3-0 advantage after the top of the fourth, but the fourth inning was when the Piedmont offense began to click again as well. The Lions cut the lead to 3-2 with RBI's by
EVAN MEADE and
CALEB NORTON.
Burden tacked on another RBI with a single to score Ballstadt and tie the game, but Maryville charged forward again taking the lead 5-3. In the eighth inning, Piedmont had three runs on four hits including Ballstadt's 2-run homerun which was the game-winning hit. Green had a 3-up, 3-down inning with two strikeouts looking to end the contest in the ninth.
Turning Point
--Piedmont came from behind with two runs in the eighth inning of game one to claim the win and again used an eighth inning comeback to win game two.

BRADY BALLSTADT's home run to left field in the eighth inning pushed the Lions ahead and gave Piedmont the 6-5 win in game two.
Standout Performances
--
MATT VONDERSCHMIDT and
BUDDY GREEN earned the win and the save respectively in both games.

BRADY BALLSTADT was 4-for-5 in game two including his game-winning 2-run homer in the eighth inning.
Inside the Box Score
--The losses for the Scots are just their sixth and seventh losses of the season and first back-to-back losses since dropping a pair against LaGrange.

--Piedmont sits in second in the USA South standings behind Methodist who has three losses in league play.
