ROME, Ga. - The Piedmont College baseball team faced Berry in a pair of games Tuesday on the road picking up two victories over the Vikings. The Lions came from behind in game two after trailing 6-0 after the second inning to pick up a 20-12 win after taking game one 4-3.
Game one was a resumed game that began on March 6 at Piedmont as the Lions had a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth when the game was halted due to fog. Piedmont had taken a 3-1 lead on a wild pitch in the fifth scoring
CALEB NORTON.
The Vikings scored in the sixth but Piedmont did as well making it 4-2. Berry would add another run but it was not enough as the Lions took game one 4-3.
RYAN COX earned the win on the mound as he pitched five innings, all of which came in the March 6 contest.
Cox would get the start in game two and pitched four innings, but would take the no decision.
BRYAN WHITACRE had the best outing on the mound for the Lions in game two as he pitched three innings giving up no runs on three hits.
The offense exploded with seven runs in both the third and the seventh innings totaling 20 runs. The Lions had 19 hits and a pair of home runs, both coming from the bat of

Turning Point
--Piedmont's 3-1 lead in game one in the fifth inning was protected by an error in the sixth that allowed another run to score as Berry would score three but could not overcome the deficit.
--The Lions had a seven-run seventh inning to move ahead of the Vikings 17-12.
Standout Performances

RYAN COX earned the win in game one and started game two to move to 2-0 on the season.

CALEB NORTON was 5-for-5 in game two with six RBI and solo shots in both the third and ninth innings.

--The losses for the Vikings were the ninth and tenth of the season for Berry.
