DEMOREST, Ga. –  The Piedmont women's lacrosse team improved to 4-0 in USA South Athletic Conference play with a 21-2 win over rival Huntingdon College on a cold Wednesday night.
 
The Lady Lions led 7-0 after the opening 9:06 and led 15-0 at halftime. Piedmont scored the second-half's first goal before Huntingdon found the back of the net to prevent the shutout.
 
Piedmont would outscore Huntingdon 5-1 in the final 22:12 to take the win.
 
CASSIDY HEFLIN led all players with six points off three goals and three assists while ROWAN BUMPASS had a game-high five goals.
 
ERIN AYLWARD had five assists and one goal while CAITLIN O'BRIEN (2g, 2a), DOMONIQUE STEELE (1,3) and EMMA FRANSEN (4,0) all had four points.
 
Steele added four draw controls while O'Brien had seven draw controls, four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
 
MACEY HIGGINS scored twice with BRITTANY GOWEN, MEGAN KOWALEC and KAITLYN MORRIS adding one goal.
 
MATTIE KEATON had five saves in the win.

-- Bumpass' five the goals were the most for any one player in a single game under head coach Laura Patton.

-- There were 10 Lady Lions that scored at least one goal while seven players had multiple points.  
-- Piedmont finished with a 29-9 shot advantage. The Lady Lions only had seven second-half shots.
