Lions Survive Greensboro Comeback To Win 8-6

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Piedmont men's lacrosse team won its fourth USA South Athletic Conference game of the season on Saturday after taking an 8-6 decision over Greensboro College on Pride Field. 

Leading 6-1 after three quarters, Piedmont was outscored 5-2 in the fourth quarter but held on to take the win and clinch a spot in the USA South Tournament. 

Greensboro scored twice in the first 3:54 of the fourth to cut the lead 6-3. CHASE GOFF would score a man-down goal before the Pride answered less than minute later.

JEREMY KOHN scored Piedmont's last goal to put the Lions ahead 8-4 with 6:09 to play. 

The Pride scored twice in the final 2:20, but Piedmont was able to close the game. 

CHRIS HADLOW scored his first of two goals with 32 seconds left in the opening quarter to give Piedmont a 1-0 lead. The Pride answered early in the second quarter before the Lions received goals from JOSH COBBINA and Hadlow to take a 3-1 lead into halftime. 

The Lions extended their lead after receiving goals from Kohn, Goff and BRADY JENKS in the third quarter.  

ZACH CZULADA had 10 saves in the win. The sophomore keeper has a conference best 58.6 save percentage and is first in the league with a 6.28 goals against average. 

LAMONT NESBITT went 11-of-16 from the faceoff dot while JAKE HANAK had a team-high five ground balls.

-- After opening the series with five losses to Greensboro, Piedmont has won two straight against the Pride. 
 
Up Next
-- The Lions will stay in the Peach State as Piedmont travels to Berry College on Tuesday for a 6:00 p.m. matchup against the Vikings.
