TYLER BURDETTE's triple in the bottom of the ninth set up the Lions for a walk-off win after a passed ball got by on the next at bat and allowed him to score for a 4-3 win over Huntingdon. Piedmont takes the series with the second win and moves to 10-1 in conference play.
It was a pitching duel early on with neither team recording a hit until the top of the third when Huntingdon's Taylor had a single. Piedmont's first hit came from
BRADY BALLSTADT in the bottom of the fourth but both Ballstadt and
ANDREW BURDEN would be picked off in the inning to end the threat.
The Hawks took the lead in the top of the fifth to lead 3-0 after a pair of strikeouts to start the frame. Starter
DAVID CRAFT tossed five innings giving up three runs on five hits with seven strikeouts.
Piedmont pulled back with a run in the bottom of the frame making it 3-1 after
EVAN MEADE singled to score Burdette.
SETH GEORGE came in and pitched a three-up, three-down inning in the sixth to bring the Piedmont bats back to life quickly.
The Lions would tie the game with two runs on two hits with
NOAH HEATHERLY scoring Ballstadt for the tying run. Huntingdon would strand three runners across the eighth and ninth innings as
MATT VONDERSCHMIDT came in and earned the win pitching the final 1.2 innings.
With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Burdette hit one all the way to the wall for a triple and with
JABIN SMITH up to bat, a passed ball allowed Burdette to score the game-winning run for the second straight walk-off at Loudermilk Field.

BRADY BALLSTADT was 2-for-4 in the game as the only Lion with multiple hits with a run scored and an RBI.
