Men's Basketball Earns Conference Victory Over Greensboro 74-68

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Piedmont College men's basketball team used a big lead to hold on for a conference victory on the road at Greensboro 74-68. The Lions led by as many as 18 in the second half and held on down the stretch for the win. 

Piedmont used a 9-0 run midway through the first half to build a sizable lead and took a 10-point lead into the break 35-25. In the second half, back-to-back TAYLOR MILLS 3-pointers in a span of 40 seconds increased the lead to 14 at 41-27. 

The Lions' first four buckets in the second half were 3-pointers with NICK RYAN breaking the trend with a jump shot to give PC its largest lead at 18 with 13:16 to play in the contest. With under 12:00 to go, the Pride went on an 11-4 run to cut into the lead 56-46, and continued to chip away at the lead getting it down to three with 34 seconds to play. 

Piedmont closed it out in the final minute making enough free throws to preserve the victory on the road. 

Turning Point
--Piedmont made 5-of-8 free throws down the stretch in the final 22 seconds of play to seal the win. 

Standout Performances
--TAYLOR MILLS had five 3-pointers in the contest leading Piedmont with 16 points.

Inside the Box Score
--Piedmont made 11 3-pointers marking the sixth time this season they've had 11 or more deep shots in a contest. 

News & Notes
--Piedmont is now 8-4 in conference play and is second in the West Division behind Maryville.
