MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Piedmont women's lacrosse team dropped its first game of the season on Sunday, losing at Pfeiffer University 17-9.
The Falcons jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Piedmont answered with goals from
DOMONIQUE STEELE and
ROWAN BUMPASS.
Pfeiffer then rattled off five straight goals to pull ahead 9-2 but
CAITLIN O'BRIEN found the goal twice and Bumpass scored her second goal in a 2:01 span to cut the lead to four goals. The Falcons answered back and led 11-5 at half.
ERIN AYLWARD opened the second half with a Piedmont goal, but Pfeiffer responded with a six-goal run to end the game.
CAITLIN JORDAN had a three assists and three draw controls in the loss.
