BRADY JENKS recorded four points to lead the Piedmont men's lacrosse team to a 9-7 win over USA South Athletic Conference opponent Methodist on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Lions claim the first USA South men's lacrosse game in league history. This is the first season that the conference sponsors the sport.

Trailing 4-1 after the first quarter, Piedmont scored two goals in the second quarter, four goals in the third and two in the fourth to earn its first win of the season.

Piedmont tied the game 4-4 to start the second half after a
LAMONT NESBITT faceoff win. The sophomore was able to win the faceoff to himself and found Jenks for the goal just eight seconds into the third quarter. Â

JEREMY KOHN goal tied the game 5-5 with 9:58 left in the third and a Jenks goal put the Lions on top for good with just over six minutes remaining in the third quarter.

The Lions would add two more goals to pull ahead 8-5, but Methodist responded with a pair of goals in a 3:08 span to cut the lead to one with just under three minutes remaining, but Piedmont iced the game with a
JOSH COBBINA goal with 1:20 left in the game.

Nesbitt went 15-for-19 from the faceoff x, scooped up six ground balls and recorded one assist.
ZACH CZULADA had 12 saves and seven goals allowed.

COLLIN WENGER had four ground balls and three caused turnovers.

-- Piedmont scored four straight goals to close out the third quarter and to open the fourth quarter to pull ahead 8-5.

-- The series is now tied 3-3. Piedmont closed its 2017 season with a 21-2 loss to Methodist. Â
