DEMOREST, Ga. - In the first midweek home game of the season, Piedmont baseball dropped a 9-8 game against Oglethorpe Tuesday. The Stormy Petrels came back from being down 6-0 and again down 8-7, but fought for the lead and held on in the final two innings.

ANDREW BURDEN. Piedmont would pour it on in the third inning with five more runs to lead 6-0 including
NOAH HEATHERLY hitting a homerun to once against score Burden.
In the fourth inning, the Stormy Petrels answered back putting up a five spot to trail 6-5 scoring their five runs on four hits and leaving two runners stranded. Oglethorpe added another pair in the next frame to lead 7-6, but Piedmont would tack on a pair as well to regain the lead 8-7 with two runs on two hits with a pair of stolen bases in the inning.
Oglethorpe was not done fighting back though as the Stormy Petrels would score a single run in both the seventh and eighth innings to capture the lead and close out the contest.
Turning Point
--The Stormy Petrels scored the game-winning run in the top of the 8th inning as a pair of singles to start the inning got OU in position to take the lead.

ANDREW BURDEN was 4-for-5 at the plate with two RBI and three runs scored.
