LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - The Piedmont College men's basketball team dropped a 62-52 decision to the Covenant Scots Wednesday evening on the road. The Scots maintained control throughout the contest, but the Lions kept it close in a low-scoring affair.

Covenant led from the start taking a 7-0 lead including a dunk in the opening minutes, but the Lions clawed back to make it a one point game five minutes in. The Scots would stretch the lead back to as many as 14 in the first half, but Piedmont fought back using a 9-0 run to make it 27-22 and cut the lead to four at halftime 35-31.

The second half saw less scoring for both sides as Piedmont cut it to a three point game on a COLE HUSKEY jumper with 15:49 to play. Back-to-back 3-pointers for the Scots from Will Crumly would regain momentum for the opposition.

After those triples, Covenant was held scoreless for nearly three minutes. Piedmont got as close as five points within the final minutes but the Scots converted 7-of-10 free throws inside the final minute to hold on for the win.

Turning Point
--The Scots held the lead throughout the contest though Piedmont pulled within five with 3:55 to play, but it was not enough as the Scots held on for the victory.

Standout Performances
--Both MILES RILEY and MARQUISE LANIER scored nine points for the Lions while Covenant's Will Crumly led all scorers with 15 points.

Inside the Box Score
