Lions Drop 79-74 Game Against Huntingdon Hawks

DEMOREST, Ga. - The Piedmont College men's basketball team dropped a 79-74 game to Huntingdon College Friday. The Lions led by as many as 12 in the second half but the Hawks were able to outlast Piedmont for the victory. 

These two were tied at 13, then the Lions took the lead 19-18 on a 3-pointer by ANDREW STIMPSON. Another 3-pointer by TAYLOR MILLS with 6:24 before the break made it 28-25 in favor of the Lions. 

Piedmont led 36-30 at the half and extended the lead to 43-32 in the second half on another 3-pointer by Mills. Mills notched four triples in the contest giving him two or more 3-pointers in every game he's played in so far this season. 

The Hawks pulled within three 50-47 with 11:48 to go, but the Lions again stretched it back to an eight point game with just under 10:00 to play. Huntingdon outscored Piedmont by 10 points in the final 10:00 and made 13-of-14 free throws in the second half. 

Turning Point
--The Hawks outscored the Lions 11-5 over the final 3:30 of the game with nine of those points coming from the free throw line. 

Standout Performances
--TAYLOR MILLS led Piedmont with 16 points including four 3-pointers as Piedmont had three players in double-figures. 

Inside the Box Score
--Piedmont scored eight 3-pointers to the Hawks' two. 

News & Notes
--Seven players scored in double-figures with Kyante Pines posting the only double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
