WHEATON, Ill. - The Piedmont College men's basketball team held tough against #2 UW-Oshkosh dropping an 86-77 decision to the second ranked Titans. The Lions held the lead as late as 9:00 to go in the contest, but the Titans outlasted Piedmont down the stretch. 

The Titans led by seven in the early going but Piedmont reeled off a 12 point stretch to lead 17-11 in the first half. UW-Oshkosh made a late run in the first half to leave the score tied at 36.

It was a tight contest through the second half with neither team leading by more than three until the Titans took a 64-60 lead with just over eight minutes to go in the game. The Titans' last eight points came from the free throw line as UW-Oshkosh outscored Piedmont by 14 at the line. 

Turning Point
--The Lions led with 9:00 to go but the Titans went on a 9-0 run to lead 67-60 and maintained the lead through the duration of the game. 

Standout Performances
--Both MARQUISE LANIER and TAYLOR MILLS scored 19 points as those two accounted for all but one 3-pointer scored by the Lions. 

Inside the Box Score
--Piedmont had all but five points come from the five starters in Friday's contest. 

News & Notes
--UW-Oshkosh had 23 points from the free throw line while Piedmont had just nine. 

Up Next
--Piedmont will take on Coe on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
