ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Piedmont college men's soccer team survived a road scare at N.C.. Wesleyan with a scoreless draw on Saturday afternoon in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

After playing 110 minutes in a 2-2 tie against Methodist yesterday afternoon, the Lions (7-1-3, 5-0-3 USA South) battled for their third straight conference draw despite the Battling Bishops (4-4-1, 4-1-1 USA South) holding a 24-3 shot advantage.

Neither team was able to mount much offense in the first half. N.C. Wesleyan fired nine shots, compared to three from the Lions in the first half. PC kept the game scoreless heading into the break thanks to three saves from freshman goalkeeper BLAYTON DUNCAN.

Piedmont continued to hold off N.C. Wesleyan throughout the second half, despite struggling to mount an offensive attack.

Playing their second double overtime game in as many days, the Lions escaped with a scoreless draw to remain unbeaten in USA South competition.
