The first semifinal game between Piedmont and Greensboro will take place on Friday, Nov. 2, at 12 p.m. on Pride Field. The winner will advance to the championship game which will be played on Saturday at 2 p.m in Greensboro.

No. 3 seed Covenant and No. 1 seed Maryville will play the second semifinal matchup at 3 p.m. on Friday in Greensboro.

Matchup
Piedmont and Greensboro will play against each other for the first since 2015 and the seventh time overall. The two teams first met in 2005, with Greensboro winning 2-0. Since then, Piedmont has won five straight and have outscored the Pride 8-2.

Greensboro advanced to the semifinals with a dominating 2-0 win over Huntingdon College. The Pride outshot the Hawks 15-0 and had eight shots on goal.

After earning a bye in the first round, Piedmont hosted Methodist University for the quarterfinals and took a 2-0 win over the Monarchs. An even game throughout the 90 minutes, Piedmont scored late in the first half and again in the middle of the second half to advance to the semis.

Both teams are 6-0 against common opponents this season with wins over Averett, Agnes Scott, Bob Jones, Emory & Henry, Huntingdon and Methodist.

How They Got Here
Greensboro will enter Friday looking to maintain a 17-0 record. The Pride have won three one-score games and won their first game of the season in overtime over Guilford. They boast a 10-0 record at home and ended the season with a 7-0 record in league play.

Greensboro has outscored their opponents 61-11 and outshot their opponents 18-4 on average. In conference play, the Pride have a pair of 2-1 wins over Pfeiffer and N.C. Wesleyan.

Piedmont opened the season with an 0-1-1 result in California. A five-game homestand improved the Lady Lions' record to 5-1-1 but a pair of losses to nationally ranked programs Emory and Centre on the road left Piedmont standing at 5-3-1.

Piedmont went on to win eight of its next nine games including back-to-back overtime wins to close out the regular season.

Standout Performers
Greensboro has two players with over 30 points with Alexis Chase and Mercedes Bauza leading the way. Chase finished the season with 16 goals, third best in the USA South and 37 points, second best in the conference.

Bauza ranks fifth in the conference with 12 goals and is second in the league with 11 assists. In goal, the Pride will rely on Kelsey Emrich as the sophomore has allowed eight goals and recorded 28 saves.

For Piedmont, four players have registered double-digit points while JAZMIN PENADO sits at nine. CASSIDY REICH, a two-time USA South Player of the Year honoree, leads the Lady Lions with 19 points (8g, 3a).

SAMANTHA ISHEE is second on the team with 16 points (5g,6a) while VERONICA CAPPAS has 14 (5g,4a) and SARAH WEBER has 10 (3g, 4a).

The Piedmont defense has been the story to write about as PC has allowed seven goals in 20 games. NATALIE MUNOZ, MADISON HATFIELD and DEVIN HAUPT have been the main line of defense, but freshmen KATELYN SMITH and ALLIE KUZEL have been strong defenders for the Lady Lions.

MIRANDA MCNALLEY has been the main shot-stopper this season and leads the conference with a goals against average of .37 and has a conference-best six goals allowed. The sophomore also has 13 shutouts, giving her 26 in two seasons.
