BEREA, Ky. - The Piedmont College volleyball team improved to 11-10 overall with a pair of wins Saturday over Berea and Kentucky Christian. The Lady Lions swept the Mountaineers 3-0 before claiming a 3-1 win over KCU.

Piedmont took 25-10, 25-18, and 25-19 wins over the Mountaineers for their second victory over Berea this season. The Lady Lions got out to a 6-0 lead to start the set setting the tone for the match as they held Berea to just three kills in the first set.

Piedmont had 39 kills to Berea's 15 in the match and held the Mountaineers to a negative attack percentage overall. AUBREE YANCEY posted five blocks to lead Piedmont while CECE COGLIANO had nine kills.

The Lady Lions won the first two sets against KCU 25-18, 25-22, but dropped the third set 25-20. In the fourth set, Piedmont claimed a 25-16 win to take the match and improve to 2-0 on the day.

ERICA BALKCUM led Piedmont with 13 kills in the match while JENNA WENDEL had 36 assists. Wendel also added three aces.

Turning Point
--The first match was all Lady Lions as Piedmont established control early claiming a 25-10 win in set one.
--Against KCU, Piedmont dropped the third set but rallied to take the fourth 25-16 to secure the win and a sweep with a pair of wins on the day.

Standout Performances
--CECE COGLIANO had an impressive day posting nine kills to lead Piedmont against Berea and totaled three blocks against the Knights.

News & Notes
--Saturday's contest against Kentucky Christian marked the first time Piedmont has faced the Knights in volleyball.

--Piedmont concludes the regular season with a tri-match at Maryville Friday, October 26 taking on the Scots and Huntingdon.
