DECATUR, Ga. - The Piedmont College volleyball team swept Agnes Scott Wednesday on the road 3-0 in conference play. The Lady Lions were led by ALINA ROBERTS and ERICA BALKCUM who contributed 10 kills each. 

The Lady Lions took control in the first set leading 19-13 late in the contest and closed out with a 25-19 win. The second set was more decisively in favor of Piedmont with a 25-15 win. The Lady Lions reeled off seven straight points to lead 17-8 in the second and had no trouble maintaining that lead. 

The third set was more of a challenge for Piedmont as the Scotties led 12-7 and as late as 21-17. At that point, the Lady Lions scored seven straight including four kills by senior KAITLYN LOESEL to make it match point 24-21. The Scotties added one point late but Piedmont sealed the win with a 25-22 win in the third. 

JENNA WENDEL posted 34 of Piedmont's 40 assists in the contest marking the most assists she's recorded in a three set match in 2018. LAINEY CHOINIERE posted 17 digs while JESSICA BEIL had 11, tying a career-best. 

Turning Point
--Piedmont was trailing 21-17 in the third set before reeling off an 8-1 run to end the set and take the match. 

Standout Performances
--ALINA ROBERTS posted her 11th double-digit kill night with 10 kills in the contest. 

News & Notes
--The Lady Lions maintained a perfect record against Agnes Scott in volleyball with a 31-0 lead in the series.
