Lions Storm Past Tornados 90-67 at Brevard

BREVARD, N.C. - In a dominant performance, the Piedmont College men's basketball team won 90-67 on the road Tuesday night against Brevard College. The Lions used 11 3-pointers to help build that lead as six different players made shots from downtown. 

Piedmont built an early lead with four straight 3-pointers for the Lions to make it 16-8 and led by as many as 13 points with under 10:00 to go till the half. The Tornados stormed back making it just a five point lead for Piedmont at 31-26, but Piedmont would take a 42-30 lead into the break. 

Coming out in the second half, Piedmont scored 10 straight to open play in just over two minutes to build a 22-point lead 52-30 and set the tone for the second half. Piedmont led by as many as 26 in the second half as it was all Lions in this one. 

Thirteen of the 16 players who saw the court Tuesday for Piedmont scored in the contest with two posting career-highs in points scored. 

Turning Point
--An 10-0 run to open the second half put momentum in the hands of the Lions as they built a 22-point lead 52-30 with 17:52 remaining in the game.  

Standout Performances
--MARQUISE LANIER led all scorers with 20 points as he missed just two shots from the floor making 4-of-6 from 3-point range.

Inside the Box Score
--Senior NICK RYAN had a career-high nine points in the contest going a perfect 4-for-4 from the floor with a 3-pointer. 

News & Notes
--No player played more than 25 minutes for Piedmont as 16 players saw the court for the Lions.

--Piedmont travels to Greensboro to take on the Pride on Saturday, February 3 at 2 p.m.
