LaGrange, Ga. - In the USA South opener for the Lady Lions, Piedmont went 1-1 dropping the opener to Covenant but picking up a victory against LaGrange in the second match of the day. Piedmont now sits at 6-4 overall and is 1-1 in USA South play. 

The Scots won the first two sets in convincing fashion 25-12 and 25-19, but the Lady Lions claimed a set in the third going to extra points 29-27. In the fourth set, the Scots proved victorious claiming the match 3-1 after a 25-16 win. 

Piedmont dropped the opening set to the Panthers but stormed back to win the final three taking the second match of the day 3-1. LaGrange took the first set 25-18 with Piedmont taking the next three 25-19, 25-23, 25-22. 

The Lady Lions had 14 aces in the match against LaGrange with KAITLYN LOESEL credited with 10 of the 14.  

Turning Point
--The Scots jumped out to an early lead and took advantage of victories in the first and second sets to claim the victory in the first match. 

Standout Performances
--KAITLYN LOESEL had 10 kills and 10 aces in the match against LaGrange to lead the Lady Lions. 

News & Notes
--Piedmont opens the USA South schedule with a 1-1 record with the next three matches coming in conference play.

--Piedmont heads to Decatur, Georgia to take on Agnes Scott Tuesday at 7 p.m.
