Demorest, Ga. – The Piedmont men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season on Friday, falling 3-0 to USA South Athletic Conference opponent Methodist University.
Methodist scored the game's first goal in the 11th minute and added its second in the 28th to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
VICTOR MUNOZ led the Lions with four shots and registered the team's only shot on goal.
The Monarchs closed the scoring with a goal in the 76th minute to take the win.

ELLIOT SAILES recorded six saves in 90 minutes of play.

-- Methodist scored twice in the first 28 minutes as the Lions were forced to play catchup for the remainder of the game.

-- The Lions went 13 days between their two games of 2017. Piedmont had one game postponed and one game cancelled due to weather in that span.
