Demorest, Ga. – Thanks to a stellar defensive performance, the Piedmont College men's soccer team won 1-0 against North Carolina Wesleyan College Saturday. The win marks just the second time the Lions have won against the Battling Bishops in program history with both wins coming at home.
The lone goal of the contest came on a header off a free kick as
NATHAN METZGER scored his first goal of the season in the 11th minute of the contest.
Defense was key for the Lions as the Battling Bishops totaled 16 shots in the game with keeper
ELLIOT SAILES posting six saves Saturday. Piedmont blocked three shots as the back line held strong as N.C. Wesleyan out shot Piedmont 16-5.
