Montgomery, AL - The Piedmont College men's tennis team claimed a share of the USA South West Division Championship Saturday with a 6-3 victory over Huntingdon College on the road. The Lions finished the season 7-1 in conference play with the lone loss coming to Covenant College as PC earned the #2 seed behind the Scots in the upcoming conference tournament.
The Lions led 2-1 after doubles play with an impressive 9-8 win at #3 doubles as each doubles set was tight. PC won at #2 8-6 with
ROBBIE WERNER and
BRYAN BARNETT combining for the victory while at #1 doubles HC claimed a 9-7 victory.
Three singles decisions came down to a third set with HC winning two of those three set matches while
DALTON PATTERSON won at #6 singles after losing 7-5 in the first then came back to win 6-3, 10-1.

BRYAN BARNETT clinched the match with a 7-6, 6-3 win at #3 singles as he has won three straight at #3 singles.
Standout Performances
--
KANLER CUMBASS and
HARRISON LABOLLITA won 9-8 at #3 doubles to give PC the 2-1 lead after doubles play.
