Demorest, GA - The Piedmont College men's tennis team rolled to an 8-1 win over Maryville College Wednesday at Burgen Tennis Courts to improve to 4-1 in conference play. The Lions are also 2-1 at home this season with a single home competition remaining for the team on Saturday, April 1. 

The Lions took control of the contest early with victories at #2 & #3 doubles with NATHAN METZGER and JACKSON HILL at #1 doubles combining to edge out the Scots' pair for a 9-8 win. 

DALTON PATTERSON and AUSTIN MILLER earned their first win in doubles play at #3 winning 8-4. It was ROBBIE WERNER who clinched the match, a day after his senior day win against Covenant in singles play, winning at #6 singles 6-0, 6-0.

Turning Point
--The Lions took a close win at #1 singles 9-8 to set up a 3-0 lead after doubles play and rolled through singles play dropping just one decision. 

Standout Performances
--ROBBIE WERNER won at #6 singles 6-0, 6-0 to clinch the match and has won five of his last six singles matches. 

Inside the Box Score
--Piedmont is set to face the Scots again in two days after the initial match in Maryville, Tennesee was postponed due to wet conditions. 

News & Notes
--The Lions improved to 4-1 in conference play to tie Covenant College in the West Division standings.

--The Lions are set to head to Maryville, Tennessee on Friday to take on the Scots yet again.
