Men's Lacrosse Cruises to 17-2 Victory over Univ. of Dallas

Dallas, TX - In the Lonestar state finale, the Piedmont College men's lacrosse team rolled to a 17-2 victory over the University of Dallas Sunday. JEREMY KOHN scored five goals in the contest to lead PC while PRESTON QUARLES added four as those two accounted for more than half of Piedmont's scoring. 

Piedmont was dominant throughout taking a 7-0 lead in the first period and led 11-0 before the Crusaders netted their first goal. The scoring started early as BRITT KENNEDY scored just 26 seconds into the contest to set the tone of the game. 

The Lions led 12-1 at the break as the scoring onslaught was tempered in the second half with PC scoring four in the third period and just once in the fourth. Piedmont had a season-high in ground balls picking up 42 to the Crusaders' 24. 

Kohn continues to lead the Lions in goals scored this season with 28 and added his first two assists of his career on the final goals of the game for the Lions. 

Turning Point
--A 7-0 first period put Piedmont comfortably out in front and the Lions led it 11-0 before the first Crusader goal found the back of the net. 

Standout Performances
--JEREMY KOHN scored five goals in the contest to notch his second five-goal performance of his career with the Lions. 
--Four athletes have five ground balls each as PATRICK SMITH, BRADY JENKS, NICK BURNS and LAMONT NESBITT all picked up five in the contest. 

Inside the Box Score
--Piedmont totaled 62 shots, the second-highest mark in program history which has been recorded three times including in 2015 when PC faced the Crusaders in Demorest. 
--The Lions were 28-of-29 on clears in the contest which was also a game-high for the season. 

News & Notes
--NICK BURNS scored his first collegiate goal with the Lions. 
--The Lions are undefeated in program history against the University of Dallas with a pair of victories.
