Atlanta, GA - The Piedmont College track and field teams traveled to Atlanta for the second straight weekend to compete at Emory in the Emory Classic Friday & Saturday. In all, nine school record fell including
ALVIN JACOBS coming in third overall in the men's 800m with a time of 1:55.03.
For the women,
JULIA GRAHAM ran a 59.88 in the 400m dash, breaking the minute barrier and the school record, finishing as the fifth fastest freshman in the event. Both
MEGAN BEATY and
ALEXANDRA LEONARDIS ran under the school record time in the 200m with
MEGAN BEATY claiming the record at 28.32, edging out Leonardis by seven hundredths of a second.
ANALEE BRADACH broke 2:30 in the women's 800m running 2:29.59, breaking her own record from the Tiger Orange & Blue Invitational in Savannah, Georgia.
BROOKE HARDEGREE also broke her own outdoor school record in the long jump with a 4.86m (15' 11.5") and jumped 10.29m (33' 9.25") in the triple jump, her best mark of her collegiate career (indoor and outdoor).
For the men,
ALVIN JACOBS came in third overall in the 800m with a time of 1:55.03 to set the school record and better his mark from the Tiger Orange & Blue Invitational where he ran a 1:57.12.
BRYCE GRIGGS ran the second fastest time in school history in the 800m with a personal best of 2:02.46 and set the school record in the 1500m running a 4:07.23 coming in 10th overall.
KILLIAN MCCLAIN also bettered his javelin record at Piedmont throwing 32.74m (107' 5"). The men's 4x400m relay team set the school record with a 3:26.00 shaving eight hundredths of a second off their time from last weekend.
NICK LEMONS was a member of the 4x400m relay team and tied the school record in the men's high jump with a 1.84m (6' 0.5") coming in fourth overall.
KYLE RAY finished second collegiately in the pole vault clearing 4.43m (14' 6.25") earning eight points as Piedmont's top finisher in the meet.

ALVIN JACOBS finished third overall in the men's 800m with a time of 1:55.03 earning six points for the Lions and setting the school record in the event.

--In total, nine school records were set at the meet.
News & Notes
--Piedmont finished ahead of seven other scoring teams on the men's side including Oglethorpe, Methodist and Valdosta State.
--On the women's side, the Lions finished ahead of Central State, Columbia (S.C.) and Clayton State.
