Demorest, GA - In the 2017 home opener, the Piedmont College men's tennis team picked up a 7-2 win over USA South foe Huntingdon College at Burgen Tennis Courts. The men clinched the match with a straight sets victory by
ROBBIE WERNER at the #5 singles spot.
Piedmont took a 2-1 lead into singles play after

BRYAN BARNETT won at #1 and #2 singles, respectively. Metzger survived at the #1 singles with a 6-1, 7-6 win and the Lions took five of the six decisions in singles play.
Piedmont opened the home schedule with a win for the second straight year and have won the last three straight over the Hawks.

ROBBIE WERNER clinched the match with a straight sets victory at #5 singles winning 6-1, 6-3.

KANLER CUMBASS posted the most dominant performance in singles play winning 6-1, 6-0 over Bailey Burns.
