Location: Demorest, Georgia - Walker Athletic Complex

Demorest, GA - As the sun set in Demorest, the Piedmont men's lacrosse team fell to the Vikings of Berry College 14-8 in the first home contest of the Lions' 2017 season.

Piedmont was hot off the whistle scoring three unanswered goals in the opening six minutes. Freshman BRADY JENKS netted two and classmate JEREMY KOHN scored one to put the Lions ahead after the first quarter 3-2.

The second quarter was all Berry as they scored five unanswered goals. It was in the final minute of the half that Piedmont scored a man-up goal as Kohn hit his second in the game as Piedmont trailed 7-4 at halftime to the Vikings.

In the third quarter, Berry scored early before an eight minute lull in scoring when the Vikings hit another. Piedmont's lone goal in the third came from PRESTON QUARLES as BRITT KENNEDY initiated on a dodge before hitting a cutting Quarles with a back-handed flip pass.

The Lions trailed after three quarters 10-5 with the final quarter beginning with JEREMY KOHN scoring, finishing with a hat trick in the contest but the Vikings shooters found the inside throughout the game. Piedmont dropped the home opener 14-8 to the Vikings as the start of a six-game home stand at Walker Athletic Complex.

Turning Point
--Seven straight goals stretched between the first and second quarter gave the Vikings a big enough lead to hold off the Lions.

Standout Performances
--JEREMY KOHN led the Lions' scorers hitting his second career hat trick.
--The pair of face off specialists for the Vikings went 22-of-24 at the x.
