DEMOREST, Ga. –  The Piedmont College men's soccer team stepped out of conference play on Tuesday night and fell 5-2 to the visiting Emory Eagles.

Emory took control early in the game and jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening 16 minutes of play. Late in the second half, the Lions started an offensive strike but ended with an Emory penalty inside the 18.

VICTOR MUNOZ was chosen for the Lions' penalty kick and delivered a strike the top left corner to pull within one goal of Emory at the 32:47 mark. Neither team was able to score for the remainder of the half as Emory led 2-1 heading into halftime.

The Eagles wasted no time in the second half and added three more goals in 22 minutes to pull ahead 5-1. EDDIE GASPAR scored for the Lions in the 73rd minute to pull within three goals, but time ran out on the Lions.

Keeper ELLIOT SAILES recorded 10 saves in the loss.


Turning Point
