MARYVILLE, Tenn. – The Piedmont men's soccer team closed out its regular season on Wednesday with a 4-1 loss at Maryville College. The Scots and Lions close the regular season as the top two teams in the USA South West Division.

The Lions will host a first round conference match on Saturday at 3 p.m. As of now, the opponent has not been determined.

Piedmont opened Wednesday's match with a CHASE KANE goal in the 10th minute. Kane's goal came off a penalty kick after a Maryville foul inside the box. Kane's goal was his 14th of the season which is tied for third in the conference.

Maryville would go on to tie the game in the 41st minute and outshot the Lions 11-2 for the half. 

The Scots took the lead for good in the 47th minute and went on to add goals in the 68th and 72nd minute.

Keeper ELLIOT SAILES finished the game with six saves.
