DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont men's soccer team scored three goals in the first half and held off a late rally by USA South Athletic Conference rival LaGrange College to take a 3-2 win on a cold Tuesday night at the Walker Athletic Complex.
CHASE KANE scored two goals in the win to give him 13 for the season. Sophomore
BRANDON RAMOS found the senior in the 13th minute to give the Lions an early 1-0 lead.
Just under five minutes later, junior
NATHAN METZGER added Piedmont's second goal after a
RENZO CATTANEO corner kick managed to find Metzger in front of the goal.
Kane added his second of the night in the 38th minute off a
VICTOR MUNOZ assist to give the Lions a comfortable lead going into the break. Although the Lions led 3-0, LaGrange held a 9-7 shot advantage heading into the second half.
The Panthers played the second half with new found energy and scored in the 68th minute to close within two goals. Just over 16 minutes later, LaGrange found the goal again to pull within one.
The Lions defense clamped down and held LaGrange to zero shots for the remainder of the contest.

ELLIOT SAILES recorded five saves in the win.
