Location: Atlanta, Georgia - Dick Lane Velodrome

Atlanta, GA - After competing in their first ever event in program history over the weekend, the Piedmont College cycling teams were back in action less than 24 hours later this time hitting the track for the SECCC Track Cup hosted by Georgia Tech at the Dick Lane Velodrome.

The Lions won the team sprint at the event with an extremely strong showing especially on the women's side as riders ERICA ALLAR and JESSICA PRINNER swept all of the races going 1, 2 in each.  For their efforts, the pair finished 1st and 2nd overall as well.  

On the men's side, sprinter JOSEPH MARSHALL won the match sprints and was 5th in the omnium while ANDREW GUELZO was 2nd in his scratch race, 5th in the points race, and won the non-collegiate points race.  

Youngster DYLAN CANTRELL competed in the non-collegiate events winning the 10-Lap Snowball race while placing 2nd in both the scratch and the points race.  Cantrell was also 4th in the miss-and-out and 6th in the unknown distance race winning his omnium. 

Standout Performances
--ERICA ALLAR finished 1st overall in the ominium. 
--JOSEPH MARSHALL finished 1st in the A/B category with 38 riders competing.  

News & Notes
--Allar finished 1st in the points and scratch race and 2nd in the points race with Prinner finishing 1st in the points race. 

Up Next
The Green and Gold will get back on the bike this coming weekend for the Mad Dog Mountain Bike Race hosted by Union College in Jackson, Tennessee.  The event will start with cross country on Saturday morning, September 10 and continue with Mountain Cross through the afternoon.  On Sunday, the event continues with short track cross country and continue with the downhill later in the day.
