Demorest, GA - Piedmont is going green...by wearing green at Wednesday night's women's soccer game vs. Berry College that is.
Fans coming to Piedmont's mid-week contest vs. the Vikings at Walker Athletic Complex are being encouraged to join in a promotion sponsored by SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) by wearing green to the game. Â
The night will be full of festivities and is the first in a long line of promotions lined up by the Piedmont SAAC which is made up of representatives from each athletic team on campus. Â
Along with the Green-Out promotion, fans will be treated to a tailgate environment with burgers and hotdogs on sale for the bargain price of $2 and $1 respectively. Â
Additionally, the Piedmont Athletic Department will be presented with the USA South Women's President's Cup Trophy at halftime of the game. Â
The trophy symbolizes the league's top athletic programs each year with one presented for both the men's and women's sides as well as an overall Presidents Cup. Â Piedmont has won the honor twice on the women's side in four years as a conference member and last year finished 2nd in the league overall. Â
On hand to present the trophy will be the new commission of the league, Dr. Tom Hart, who recently took over for former commissioner Rita Wiggs in the summer of 2016.
The Green-Out promotion is the first of many fall semester promotions sponsored by the Piedmont SAAC with the remaining promotions listed below. Â
