Demorest, GA - The Piedmont College men's lacrosse team saw visiting Huntingdon College race out to a first half lead earlier Saturday evening falling 10-3 to the Hawks in SEILC action.
The Hawks tallied a 7-0 lead before the halftime break courtesy of Jakob Works' five straight goals that ended the first half as he led all scorers on the evening. For Works, the goals brought his season total to 51 on the year.
Though the two would be even in the second half scoring three each, the visiting Hawks had already done the damage going on to get the 10-3 win against the hosting Lions.
Piedmont did see some of its graduating senior class get on the scoring sheet with Senior Night taking place under the lights at Walker Athletic Complex. Both
TAYLOR CARTER and
BRANSON MIKELL fired in scores in the 4th quarter to post goals on their final night of competition at Walker.
The loss brings Piedmont to an 0-3 record in SEILC play with one more such contest remaining in the regular season as PC visits Methodist for its 2016 finale on April 17 at 1:00 pm in Fayetteville.

--Huntingdon held a 7-0 lead after an explosive first half that saw leader Jakob Works score all five of his goals on the evening pushing his season total to 51.

BRANSON MIKELL each scored on Senior Night at Walker Athletic Complex as the Lions honored just their second-ever 4-year senior class.

--After a slow first half, Piedmont evened it up with the Hawks in the second half as each score three in the final two periods.
News & Notes
--Huntingdon added two late to push the final margin to seven as Piedmont trailed by just five after a TAYLOR CARTER score with 4:36 to go in the 4th.

The final regular season contest of the 2016 season as Piedmont travels to Fayetteville, North Carolina for a SEILC showdown with Methodist University on April 17. The opening face-off is set for 1:00 pm.
