Southeast Independent Lacrosse Championship (SEILC) game of the year 17-5 to Greensboro College earlier Saturday afternoon.
The road contest saw the hosting Pride of Greensboro force 25 Piedmont turnovers as the Lions struggled to get going offensively in the loss. Â Greensboro out-shot PC in the contest though the Lions held the Pride to a 1-of-6 mark on extra-man opportunities.
BRANSON MIKELL scored three of Piedmont's five on the day, his fourth hat-trick of the season. Â Mikell leads all Piedmont scorers this season with 17 goals on the year.
Greensboro built a 9-2 lead at the halftime break before a five-goal showing in the 3rd set the difference between the two for good. Â The Pride were led by Jonathan Avedesian's five-goal day at home.Â
Greensboro moves to 1-3 in SEILC play while the Lions are now 0-2 with another SEILC foe next on the docket as Huntingdon College comes to town on Saturday, April 9 for Senior Day at Walker Athletic Complex.Turning Point--A 5-goal third quarter that helped the Pride tack on to its halftime lead in the 12-goal decision.

BRANSON MIKELL totaling his fourth hat-trick of the season with three goals in the 17-5 road loss.
--Greensboro was led by Jonathan Avedesian's five goals on the afternoon, his highest scoring performance of the season.
Inside the Box Score--Piedmont was 9-of-22 on the clear compared to a 12-of-17 mark for the home team.
--DALE MORLEY had 19 saves in the cage for Piedmont.News & Notes--With the win, Greensboro possibly earns a spot in the SEILC tournament to be played in just under three weeks.
